Patient-empower (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application, available on iOS and Android.

We collect the following information from you when you create an account or use our app:

• Account Information: First name, last name, email address, and optionally your phone number.
• Search Preferences: Disease/diagnosis, and location information such as city, country, or a full address (entered manually).
• Forum Activity: Content you post in threads and messages. Only your first name and the first letter of your last name are shown to others.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Enable you to search for and explore clinical trial opportunities.
• Support community interactions through forum participation.
• Maintain your account and allow you to manage or delete it.

We do not use analytics services or share your personal data with any third parties.

3. User-Generated Content

If you participate in our forums, your posts and messages are visible to other users. You may report inappropriate content, and you may also block users whose messages you no longer wish to see.

We do not allow media uploads (images or video), and all displayed names are limited to the first name and first initial of the last name for privacy.

4. Data Control and Deletion

You have full control over your data:

• You can delete your account at any time through the Menu > Settings > Delete Account feature.
• All data associated with your account will be permanently removed upon deletion.

5. Location Information

We do not collect GPS-based location data. Users enter their preferred location manually, and it can be generalized (e.g., entering only a city or country).

6. Children’s Privacy

Patient-empower is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. Although the app is rated 12+, users must have the ability to purchase a subscription, which typically requires parental consent or adult supervision for minors.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access or disclosure.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via email.
